Nettleton 195 is modern family home built in Clifton, Cape Town, an affluent suburb and an exclusive residential area which is home to some of the most expensive real estate in South Africa. Dwellings are nestled on cliffs that have sweeping views of the Atlantic Ocean.
Our loyal readers will probably notice, that this modern family home is designed by the outstanding SAOTA (Stefan Antoni Olmesdahl Truen Architects). Their signature design is hard to miss and impossible to ignore. With TCA as structural engineers and OKHA Interiors as a furniture supplier, this architectural masterpiece reached incredible levels of design quality, same as any of their modern homes, Pearl Valley 334, Nettleton 198, which is definitely one of the most beautiful houses in the world!
"Whilst the site is fairly small at 874.7 square meters, it sloped away dramatically, resulting in a house of 5 separate floors which in many instances connects to the adjacent natural ground levels, or raised platforms. One accesses the house at the midlevel between the second and the highest floor, resulting in the house being only 2 storeys above Nettleton Road. (...) A dramatic open tread staircase and lift core, with a generous skylight creates a central spine which connects all the floors comfortably. Even the lowest level – which is a predominantly double volume gallery space formed by the cavernous space below the main living level and the steep natural ground line – has generous natural light via the stairwell and skylights. (...) The interior is decidedly modern, effortless ultra-chic and makes you feel instantly comfortable and at home." - says Mark Rielly of Antoni Associates.
